Jesus’ God

The parable of the Prodigal Son invites us to see Jesus’ God as more forgiving than we can possibly expect. And the story also tells us that God invites us to grow up.

Abram’s God

Abram’s God is not like the other gods. In the church, we’ve put up a lot of little clay men over the centuries and said, “that’s God!” Religion needs a little smashing now and again.

Ash Wednesday: We are not in control of time.

The Christian Calendar reminds us of something our ancient ancestors knew in their bones. We are not in charge of time.

No situation is ‘Untransfigurable.’

The words of Bishop Tutu: “no one and no situation, is ‘untransfigurable.'” All of creation waits for us to lift the veil, to see the world as God sees the world. To see one another as God sees us, that is indeed a journey.
