This is the first Sunday of Lent, the beginning of a long journey with Jesus. I wonder, could this Lent be an invitation? Could we ask: “Where is your wilderness?” Where can you go to be vulnerable? Where will you face your demons?

Ash Wednesday: Remember you are Finite
Lent is simple, deceptively simple. Lent is about accepting our limits. Lent is about giving up what makes us sad. Faith is about falling in love, and following Jesus.
Where do you locate hope?
How long do we resist? Well Christians, if we place our hope in God, we resist until the coming of Christ’s kingdom.
Do Justice.
This ban on refugees is unChristian. What does it mean to be a people who follow Jesus today? What does it mean to be a Christian who believes in “Welcome” today? I wonder if our church is being challenged to inhabit that value more fully.
