Who do you think you are?

Small things with great love may be a healthier distillation of Advent than the narrative our world offers, asking us to muscle the best holiday we can. Small things with great love could certainly be a tag line for John the Baptizer.

We need Advent this year

Jesus worked for, prayed for, organized for the end of the world where the wealthy, the connected, the privileged thrived on the backs of the vulnerable. Jesus wanted that world to end in his day. God wants that world to end in ours.

God’s Only Plan

There’s a phrase I wish I could ban from church. It’s this: “God has a plan.” The only plan I dare to call God’s is to show up when life hurts.
