Advent Disruption
This season of waiting, of hope, of expectation, it’s a time of practice. Our world doesn’t wait well. Advent asks us to practice waiting. Even amidst the tinny holiday music clinically designed to make us buy yet more junk, underneath the disastrous drumbeats of the news, listen. There is another melody playing. There is a counterpoint.
The Power of Lament
This has been a tough week for St. Louis. How do we make room for grief, for anger, and for hope? How do we work together to make change?
Your faith has made you well?
What does Jesus mean when he says, “your faith has made you well?” I suspect how we answer this question tells us a great deal about about our own faith, and our own sense of wellness, even our sense of salvation.
